A scorch mark on the sofa and a cancelled Christmas: Phil threatens to take the tree away unless someone owns up, and Alex confesses to save the day, only for the family to discover the real culprit was a sunlit bauble. Meanwhile Jay tries to share the family movie night with Gloria and Manny, who have their own Colombian traditions. And Cameron and Mitchell take Lily to see a mall Santa, complain that he is not jolly enough, and get him sacked. It is a warm, funny ensemble episode, full of the little squabbles of Christmas that every British family knows too well. Ideal for the sofa with the whole household.
