Captain Mainwaring has been teased about the medals he does not have, and his opposite number in the Eastgate platoon is only too happy to keep the joke going. So the two commanders put their men through a contest of skill, initiative and military cunning to settle who really is the better leader. The Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard take on their rivals in an hour-long special that is pompous, silly and affectionate in equal measure. It's a gentle old favourite for a lazy Boxing Day, with the whole family.
