Norman Stanley Fletcher is determined to spend Christmas somewhere warm and quiet, so he has hatched a plan to book himself into the prison hospital and stay well out of trouble. Unfortunately, Grouty has a scheme of his own to free another inmate, and he is not about to let a minor detail like the infirmary stand in his way. Porridge's longer Christmas special takes a good hard look at the lengths a man will go to avoid work, and the results are warm, sharp and very funny. Pour yourself a nice port.
