Stick Man

Stick Man is a happy-go-lucky dad with one aim: get home to the family tree in time for Christmas. Unfortunately a playful dog, a river, a swan's nest and a very nearly fatal fire all have other ideas. Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's picture book becomes a half-hour adventure across the seasons, with Martin Freeman as Stick Man, Jennifer Saunders narrating and Hugh Bonneville turning up as Santa. There's a gentle running gag about everything a stick can be mistaken for, and an ending that suits a 4pm Christmas Day slot perfectly. Great for little ones and the grandparents beside them.
