The TARDIS has crashed into a spaceship dressed up as the Titanic, orbiting Earth so its passengers can observe the strange habit of Christmas. The Doctor boards, befriends a waitress called Astrid and finds himself on a ship heading for disaster, with angel-shaped robots stalking the corridors and a villain who has plotted the whole thing. It is a proper disaster movie in space, with a decent group of survivors to cheer on and a final hour that wobbles between daft and quietly moving. Big, bold and festive in the way only Doctor Who manages.
